getting close

I'm at almost 22 hours. Got my 24 hour chip close by. This is so hard.

It's hard but you're almost there!

Keep moving forward. You can do this.

Proud of you grandma. It won't seem as hard once you get a few days behind you. You're doing great. :)

24 hours

In just a few moments it will be 24 hours since my last drink. I did it.
I was thinking of all of the reasons for quitting. I went upstairs to get something and I could smell the alcohol in the air. My husband passed out at 3:30pm our time about 3 1/2 hours ago.
So I'll make a list of reasons.
1- my room won't smell like booze in the morning
2- my eyes are already looking clearer today.
3- I won't have to worry that people can smell it like a store clerk
4- or a cop will stop me
5- My stomach won't hurt at least after detox is over
6- maybe I can lose some weight
I COULD GO ON FOR HOURS
Thank you all for being there for me today. I will need all the support I can get in the coming days. I love you all:tyou

Way to go on those first 24 hours, Grandma!

Those are all excellent reasons for quitting. Another wonderful benefit of quitting for me has been waking up with no regrets for the dumb things I did the night before.

Not sure what time it is where you are, but we're having a general recovery meeting in the chat room in about 35 minutes. You would be most welcome to join us. We generally have a wonderful topic and you'll meet some wonderfully supportive people.

I THOUGHT OF THAT TOO. I have a big mouth when I drink,
Thanks again

One little day at a time. Congrats on those hard earned 24 hours.

No one said it would be easy, only that it would be worth it. :)

Stay close. You can absolutely do this. We will help

OHH, THANK YOU ALL,
In a few minutes it will be 36 hours. I couldn't sleep. Only an hour of so. But I never let myself think about having a drink to fix the sleeping part. I kept the phone and water next to my be. What kind of sucks is that I have a cold. So my eyes are still swollen. Well one thing at a time I guess. I feel so good about this. I just had to wait until the time was right for me and I got mad enough to do something about it.
Thanks again, Oh and can you all kind of stay with me for the next few days. I'm kind of scared.
Diana
