Back to my old habits...

I've taken a turn for the worse. I was doing well, but now I'm back in a bad place. Have taken a bottle of wine and am drinking it alone in bed while everyone else has gone to bed. Why? I'm not sure. I'm bored and can't sleep. It was the first thing I thought of. I know I shouldn't be, but it's just too easy to do.

Drinking seems like the easy way out, but it always makes everything worse instead. Why not pour out the rest and spend some time reading and talking with us instead?

We each have to make the decision to quit. No one can do it for us. A bottle of wine in bed alone does not sound like a good time to me. If you know you should not be doing it, you need to stop. Again, no one can do it for you. Your decision.

Hi. My undisciplined days of drinking were similar until I got sick and tired of being sick and tired of the SOS. I needed to get honest with myself about MY drinking and finally surrendered to the fact that I cannot drink in safety. I was working daily and went to meetings every day, becoming active, and stopped thinking about drinking. There are many tools out there to help, all we need to do is pick them up even if we don't want to.

Sydney1988 drinking late at night in bed alone is boring too. Pour it out. You'll feel better in the morning.

Why not watch a movie or look around SR for others you can help instead?

Have you considered removing the booze from your home so you're less tempted? Don't give up. This doesn't have to turn into a thing. Start afresh in the morning! Sending my best.

Do yourself a big favor and pour the rest out. Go to sleep and start again tomorrow.

Hi Sydney, keep trying. How did your doctor's appointment go? Did you have a good discussion with him/her?
Why not spend some time looking up alcoholism and it's effects on the body? I found that very motivating.
I'm glad you came back. Not everyone succeeds first try.

It's really easy to slip back into drinking. It takes effort to stop.

Some join AA, some have addiction counsellors, some do rehab...even if it's just posting here before you drink again, do something Sydney.

You're worth the effort, yeah?
