Day One and determined to commit
Today is my day one. I tried this once before and thought I was clear to just have a few drinks after about five months of being sober. I was wrong and fell into a what ended up being weeks of drinking daily. I feel very determined and have a lot to live for. I know this time it means never drinking again ever. I'm okay with that. It isn't worth my life. So far I'm experiencing some anxiety. I believe I will probably experience a restless night when I head to bed as well. Holding on tight... It's going to be a. Long week! I look forward to using this site daily. From what I can tell so far, it is going to be very helpful

Recognizing the enemy is the first step. Welcome back to sobriety and to SR. One day at a time and this week will be over before you know it. 5 months shows dedication and you can have that again, plus more.

You've done 5 months before so you've proved you have the strength. I made the same mistake recently after 5 months exactly. I thought it would be ok and I'd control it. So so wrong! It seems like we can't turn back the clock, so onwards and upwards. This site is amazing, full of support and advice, so stick close and you can do it!

Welcome to SR. You have a long period of sobriety before so you know you can do this. Do you have a plan for this time? I use AVRT. Have you tried it? You can google it and do a free short introduction. Might be worth a look. Anyway good luck and keep posting.

I was shocked that I couldn't control it after the 5 months... I felt so great and couldn't believe i had gotten out of control after doing so well for so long.. It happened so fast too. I started a journal and wrote 7 pages when I made my decision to quit again explaining to myself why I am done for good. I did this last time and it worked well but I Did throw it away after a few months and stopped reading it. I think that was my first mistake. I also plan to use this site daily I enjoy the chat room and the forums. I still need to check out a lot. There's lots of things I want to read yet
