Okigirl, you can do it. Take it one hours, one minute at a time. "I can drink in 30 minutes but not right now." You are onto something about getting the first weekend out of the way; I felt a lot stronger after I put a sober weekend behind me.

Stick close and good luck!

Welcome, okigirl, to SR. You've come to a great place and there are members on both sides of the globe and in-between (USA, UK, Australia, South America to name a few) so don't worry about time zones. Just post and we will answer.

I had the same drinking pattern. For me getting the first weekend out of the way was a big help. My method has been read and post on SR, think about how you will feel the next day, and STAY BUSY. I seriously go to matinees by myself, workout, read, walk, anything but dwell on not drinking. It felt weird at first but now I'm getting used to replacing my drinking time with other activities. Best of luck!
