am I supposed to tell others of my sobriety?

When I got sober...I told everyone that I planned on keeping in my life. I just felt that it took a lot of pressure off of me. It nipped in the bud, the possibility of them offering me a drink. Also...my thinking was if I hide it from them....it makes it very easy for me to say "screw it" and drink...I felt like telling them made me more accountable. I don't know if THATS the reason im sober....but its been over 10 years....so somethings working :-)
