You have not let him down. There is a lot of shame associated with addiction.
I am a recovering alcoholic and drank in complete isolation because I was so ashamed and so afraid people would find out that I was a drunk.
This is not a reflection on you, it s part of the disease, lots of addicts do isolate.
I would also suggest that you check out Al Anon or Nar Anon.
Those are 12 steps programs for those of us who love someone who is an alcoholic (al anon) or an addict (nar anon).
I am both in AA and Al Anon. The first program saved my life, the second saved my sanity.

Take good care of yourself. You did nothing wrong so please don't blame yourself.

Thanks Carlottta,
I plan to attend nar-anon meeting this week.
I am so happy I found this site. It has helped me so much. I thought i was just going to die, but when I read all the information and the feed back that I get I know I can get through this and be strong for my son.

I think he is experiencing meth induced psychosis. If he stops they may end. I myself have experience this but never for more then a few days. Meth affects people differently. I hope your son makes a decision to take his life back.
