A better day
I made it through yesterday thanks to your support. I already went to a meeting and to the gym this morning and the day is still young. So, I am feeling MUCH better. I've also been reading a Lifering book that I find very helpful. This IS a battle but I am determined to beat it even if it takes many tries. In the Lifering book it talks about having even the smallest desire to be sober being enough to work with. Well, I have a HUGE desire to be sober and I need to keep going in that direction.
I actually thought it would be easier to avoid alcohol on vacation but that hasn't been the case. For one, I am eating out a lot more than I would at home (partially because there is only one restaurant anywhere near where I live and it is an A&W). Also, even though there are not many meetings where I live I know some sober people now and have local resources.
You all have been a huge help. It is interesting to me how I feel like I am getting to know SR member's personalities a bit. I like it.
