New To this place :)

Hey!! New here and feeling like finally ready to give up my relationship with alcohol.

I like to socially drink, but tend to have major major anxiety the following day and it is just not worth it anymore.

Recently, lost my mom and was spiraling into morning drinking due to depression and anxiety.

On day 4 and feeling good and restarted P90X!!

We're so glad to meet you Herewego. You are wise to see what alcohol's doing to you. It'll help to be with others who understand.

Thanks everyone!!! The support really helps! Crazy how you go from having a good time to drinking to survive.

YUCK!!

So sorry to hear about the loss of your mom.
Good job on restarting P90X - I've used the videos before and they kick your ass ; ) Exercise definitely helps me out when I feel like drinking. the best part is how good you feel after, and knowing that you earned that feeling - and didn't get it from picking up the bottle. Anyways - welcome to SR!

P90X? Well, I was going to congratulate you on sobriety but you are going above and beyond. Holy cow, you are just kicking butt and taking names! Good job on the fresh start.

Welcome, there were countless occasions when I woke up I would start to drink, even in the shower. Aint that just insane. Losing family members is hard.

KateL 02-21-2014 05:59 AM

Hope it is still going well for you xxxx

herewego1975 02-21-2014 09:52 AM

Everything going really well!! Went to a function with alcohol last night...mixer had a diet cole while my friend had wine. Did not feel bad at all!!!

One thing I have been using and I love is Yogi Stress Relief tea.

Got a 9% raise at work and feeling grateful for diminishing anxiety 😃

herewego1975 08-01-2014 09:14 AM

Well, I am back on day one. Always tend to go go back to drinking once I feel better. I need the motivation to beat this disease!!!

DOCBOM 08-01-2014 09:32 AM

I lost count of my how many day ones I went through. But I was determined to beat alcohol. Never give up Girl you can do this. There is light at the end of the tunnel, nothing can be more certain. Exercise is a great tool and SR as well. You need support and to know that you’re never alone in your journey. AA is a great resource to obtain that support. I would also suggest trying to avoid situations were alcohol is present during the beginning of the road the to an amazing life beyond our wildest dreams. Sorry to hear about your Mom. Get up and dust yourself off and give it a sober life a chance, you can do it and you will never have any regrets to your decision!!!!

Meraviglioso 08-01-2014 09:42 AM

So sorry about your mom. Time to get back at your sobriety, you can do it. I know what it feels like to go back to day one, but the only thing you can do now is start again. Have a good, sober weekend!

jryan19982 08-01-2014 09:45 AM

Yay! Good for you. Welcome.

very sorry about your mom. I started a.m. drinking when mine died too, I knew I was in a temporary depressed state. She's been gone 2 years, 3 months today. I recently just accepted it(she was my best friend).. But because of her I quit 2 years ago today. I can't believe its been that long..I can remember the feeling like it was yesterday..the bad feelings, I mean..puking, pretending I was ill, cancelling appt's left and right, excuses for everything. Now i can't believe how much I'm accomplishing. PX90 is a pretty big feat, good for you.

herewego1975 08-01-2014 09:53 AM

I also been getting very intense anxiety that makes me extremely down. I'm hoping that goes away soon!!!
