Having a rotten day... but
Thank you so much for all you do here and all that you give of yourself to this community.
You remind me to take a moment to be grateful for the good in the day, however small that thing may be.
Dementia took my mother and I too fear this very much. Such a sad time for you, very draining in all ways. Thinking of you and wishing you some peace in these difficult times.

Least, I hope that you can find some balance between visiting your mother daily and taking care of yourself. I can imagine how draining those visits are.

I echo others in being grateful for your presence here & I totally get the dog thing too.
I understand the 'drink makes things worse' and think you are brilliantly strong in coping with your situation.
Sending peacefulness to you and your mum x
Driving my wagon of hope through beautiful views on my road to myself

Big hugs. I'm sorry you're having a bad go of things too.
Life sometimes loves to toss us around in every direction.
I hope the burden soon lifts off of your shoulders.
I'm so proud of you, not choosing to drink. What a beautiful example you're showing the newcomers.
Thank you for your service work here. I'm grateful that YOU

I'm sorry you had a bad day. It is wonderful what you are doing for your mom, although I know how hard it is. My dad also suffered from dementia. I will send positive thoughts your way! I echo what Silentrun said...give your bank a call and explain that you made an error and see if they will reverse the OD fees. Thank you for all you do for us here on SR too!
Just wanted to pop back in real quick and let you know I lit a vigil for you and momma tonight. I hope you can feel the peace from the prayers we have all been sending your way.

Least, and everyone else who is dealing with caring for elderly parents...I am in this club too, and it's not easy is the understatement of the year. No matter what choices you make, you feel you could be doing more or doing it better. The guilt, the sadness, the fear of it happening to you, the fear of losing them, and knowing it's coming, it goes on and on.
Sometimes I feel like it's a miracle I'm not drinking this all away, but it's such a gift to them to be fully present in their later days. We can all just support each other, and send good vibes and strength for the rough times. I don't wish this on anyone, but it's truly a labor of love and your parents are lucky to have you caring for them. Hang in there!

You have inspired me so many times on this forum; it warms my heart to see all this love coming your way from the wonderful people here. Add mine to the rest of it. You are an extraordinary person.
And I am so glad your mom is able to have her cats with her. I imagine and hope that they are able to bring her and you some measure of comfort during these difficult times.

Least, I am sorry for the pain that has come your way today. I can completely relate to the situation you are going through with your Mom. I'm sure you already do this but just tell her you love her every day and try to be happy around her. I know how tough it can be... my Mom passed in 2010 after a 6 yr battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) and it was incredibly sad to watch her deteriorate.
You are an incredible daughter, keep your chin up.
Peace and comfort to you (((((Least))))).
