Valentine's Day Suffering

Is it just me? My fiance had to work in another city and I fell on black ice last night outside of a museum- can't walk. My dog walker got a card and chocolates, and as I jokingly said, I got crap, but at least "she made it herself." Feeling blue.

I'm sorry you're feeling down.
I'm sure that once your fiance gets back you'll do something special?

Hope you heal quickly too natlaw

He is is own person and to hope on another is only to put your own feelings into someone else's hands - never a good outcome.

I hope you heal up soon and Happy Valentine's Day! Try not to be too down and find something to help your mood. For me, that usually involves ice cream and Hershey's Syrup.

How true this is, and the reason why I'm no longer with my ex.

I hate Valentine's Day, I always have.

I hate a "holiday" that causes so much pain for so many people. It is a day when lonely people feel more alone; a day when unappreciated spouses/partners feel more taken advantage of than usual. I don't understand it. In my mind it reminds me of high school cliques where the unpopular kids watch the cheerleaders and jocks rule the world. And I hate it.

That said. I love my husband and I know he loves me. But I know because of the horrible day he is having with a job, that was made more horrible by this latest snow storm, that I will not be getting a card, or flowers, or candy. And that is ok. Before work today, my husband, not because it was Valentine's day but because of who he is; took the 15 minutes before he left for work to shovel the driveway so I wouldn't have too Not a present most women would find romantic but one I did!!!
