Sydney so very proud of you! It takes a lot of guts to do what you did! That was a big step you just did.

That's fantastic news. To me, what you did there shows that you have got a lot of inner strength and resolve. Look back at how nervous you were and then what you did when it came down to it. You're already on the path, sir and what a start. We're right behind you.

Congrats on taking that step! I did recently too, and having this new hope and support has made all the difference. Here's to a sober future!

Thanks to all for the support. And also the jokes. I was making them too, I'm not sure the dr found them so funny but I find humour helps me. So I'm still going to say it even if it's a little inappropriate (or very!).

Well, alcohol is a depressant, disguised as something to make you feel good. Humour does make you feel good and what's even better is that you created the feeling. What better way of undermining the enemy...! I'd say it's very appropriate!

A good idea for starting sobriety is whilst taking diazepam, as I'm sure his px won't be for that long, sometimes striking whilst the irons hot is the best way foreward.
You can do this this place is a fantastic resource, it's good your Dr is in the loop as he will keep a close eye and help you make this the best decision you could take.
John.

I've suffered depression longer than I've had a drinking problem & find its normally better to laugh than to cry N sometimes to laugh so much that you literally cry with laughter!
I'm making more moments to allow hope, fun & laughter into my life & hope you and others find ways to find similar moments for yourself/selves.

So very brave of you! I recently went to the Dr. and then chickened out and downplayed how much I drank. He told me to cut back to 1-2 glasses a night. Ha! Easier said than done. When I went back a month later, I admitted to him that it would not be possible to cut back. It's either all or nothing. He was very understanding. I'm so glad I've chosen nothing, which is really everything!

Best to you on your journey. Stay strong!!!

Doctors have seen it all. When I went to the ER is was embarrassing to admit my drinking. I flat out told them everything. The nurse fed me pills because I couldn't hold a glass. At no point did anyone make me feel bad about it.

I'm sure you're so glad you went. When I finally came clean to my doctor I was very emotional too - it was such a huge relief to finally come out with it. Proud of you for facing up to this and taking action.

i remember that step very well.

And a lesson here is look how you stresseded baout the situation before you got there, and then you did it and the weight lifted is huge.

we have to remember to try and slow the movie down when we are anxious about something cuz most times everything works out great.
