30 Day Challenge!
I know setting a limit is not a solution in itself, but if I can do this it'll prove to me that I can go with drinking and will spur me on to go further. Hope mounting up to thousands of 24 hours
Tips that are working for me so far:
1. Exercise. If you're at a loose end, it's amazing how much more lively and positive you feel if you don't sit around. Plus it kills time
2. Don't go hungry. Even if you think you're over-eating, you'll feel better than being hungry, both mentally and physically. Your body will be expecting some extra calories it gets from booze anyway. Making something complex is also good for killing time and keeping you occupied.
3. Stay hydrated. Water is good for you! It helps me just having the glass in my hand sometimes.
4. Talk to someone. If you're feeling lonely, angry, depressed - whatever, it always feels better talking to someone. Text a friend, call someone, post on here or whatever.
5. Keep your mind occupied. Too much time on your hands is a killer! If you can't get out or exercise or something, keep your mind busy - do a puzzle, play a game online or write a list of tips on sober recovery . I have three books on the go at the moment, just in case I don't feel like reading one, I can pick up another easier one. one of these is rational recovery.
Whatever you do, don't 'dwell' on anything negative. Its sometimes too easy to let the darker thoughts take over when you're feeling low.
This is my two cents anyway :~)

I can see why that would be helpful being around people in the same boat, but AA is not something that sits comfortably with me. I started this relationship with alcohol myself and I'll end it myself. I know, I'm stubborn

Can I come too?
From today I'm making a commitment to stay sober for 30 days. It will be the longest I have ever stayed sober since starting to drink 20+ years ago. This will take me up to the 14 March (I think?). On that date, the challenge will roll over and start again. Is anyone with me?
Hi there!
Just finished my first 30 days sober and wanna go for more...can I come along for the ride? My wrap date will be March 17th I guess....
BEST!
