Back again. . . no more fight Ever since my boyfriend of 11 years broke up with me in November I have returned to binge drinking with disastrous consequences. Not only have I been hospitalised due to a head injury, but have also managed to humiliated myself by throwing myself at people in a drunken stupor. I do not want to be this person anymore. I feel so empty and betrayed (it has not been an amicable break up) and although I know that alcohol is not the answer, it seems like I am surrounded by it everywhere. I don’t know where to turn as I feel like I have just got no fight left in me. |

You have all the power to change to the person you want. This is a great resource and advice for other types of help. Your Dr would be all tool eased to help also. Each day counts and keep trying. John, |
Thank you. :-) |
Hello, and welcome. I had some occasions that led me to fall off the wagon and drink myself into oblivion, too. Alcohol never solved any of those things in my life. I thought it did while I was bingeing on it, but then came the next day and all of the fear and anxiety that goes along with it. Laid up in bed thinking of my problems and realizing that alcohol had only made things worse. I understand where you're coming from and you've found a great place to share your thoughts. Best to you. |
Hi and welcome misscostalot hope you stick around, you'll find lots of support here x |
It's not easy breaking up with someone after been part of their lives for so long. Worse when it is not amicable. It brings some nasty, negative feelings and almost like you've gone into free fall....the cord has been cut. But as I am sure you are experiencing....alcohol makes those feelings a million times worse, taking your energy and self-worth and making the situation seem insurmountable. That been said, it can also be a great catalyst to quit alcohol for good. You know if you drink, it's going to bring you back to those negative feelings. That's the negative association. You don't want that. You deserve better. You wrote here, so there is fight left in you! |
Welcome Miss :) |
Welcome to the family. :) You'll find lots of support here. |
Thanks everyone for making me feel welcome. I just feel so lost and hurt at the moment and alcohol just makes this worse. Ironically my ex was a big drinker, i suppose now is my chance to quit without any negative influence. |
