Im new

I come from a family of drinkers. Alcoholism has consumed my life for the past 4 years and even cost me a job in the process. Now I'm in the court system because of it. I've come to realize that a beverage cannot control my life anymore. I just did not want to admit that fact until it was too late. I haven't drank since my birthday in late December 2013 I'm just not sure where to go from here.

Well done! You've taken a bigger step than I have. I can't wait to say that I've had the strength you had.

You can go to AA and stay here for added support by doing a lot of reading and identifying then adapting to positive things you read or hear. Many of us are undisciplined and keep trying the softer, easier way we think will work and that ends up usually painfully worse than following suggestions from sober people. We have choices, painful, less painful. The final start into sobriety is based on not picking up the first drink. Simple tho not always easy.

BE WELL
