So hungover! But hopeful this morning

I just randomly decided to join a minute ago & this is my first post. I'm not overly fond of myself at this moment, but I know it will pass. I want to promise this is my last hangover but I'm scared I'll let myself down...again. I don't remember going to bed last night, have to leave for work shortly and my stomach feels like it's turning inside out. This is a bummer. I've done the whole rehab/AA thing before but for hard drugs- this is the first time I've truly felt myself struggling with alcohol..although it's been a significant problem for me for the past 2-3 years (I'm 29). I'll come back after work today & try to post more. No drinking tonight!! This ends NOW

welcome and much strength wished for you

you have been sober before and we know that you can do it again

sometimes next time around we are more appreciative

for sobriety truly is a blessing

Welcome to SR.

If the whole rehab/AA thing worked before, no reason it wouldn't work this time. You just have to want it to work.

Welcome, Why! Write about your hangover and how awful you feel today before you feel completely better. Hang on to what you write. It will be helpful in the weeks and months to come!

You can do it and we are glad you are here!

I wanted a drink today.. but instead I watched Gary Clark Jr, Joe Walsh and Dave Grohl kill the George Harrison classic "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" 40 times in a row on the taped Beatles 50 Year classic... beats drinking that's for sure... epic performance

Thanks guys! I made it through the workday despite my pitiful state this morning. Now that I'm home I'm planning on relaxing on the couch with my husband and a nice bottle of...Gatorade!!

I'm not an every day drinker (probably 3-4 days a week, tops), but when I do drink, I drink like it's my job! I've never been physically dependent on alcohol so withdrawals aren't an issue for me- thank goodness! On the days that I haven't drank the night before I feel AMAZING! Well rested, mentally sharp & focused, not bloated, no sausage fingers from retaining water, etc. You guys probably know what I'm talking about. What's so silly to me is that if there was a pill that made me feel the way I do after not drinking, I would likely pay a large sum of money for a bottle of those (non-existent as far as I am aware) pills. What's silly about that is I don't have to spend a dime to feel that good. In fact, it's kinda like getting paid to feel good considering booze money saved. I'm rambling.

More later. Thanks again for all your support; I really did feel different-in a good way- today knowing that I took the easy steps to simply register and write a quick post!

Still sober!! I probably would be anyway even if I wasn't on a mission to quit drinking, as I said I'm not an everyday drinker. But it feels great to share. I've been posting all over the place- this is fun!

Hi Why, post away. During my first few days it really helped me to post a lot and get feedback and encouragement. Sounds like you are off to a good start.

Welcome back. Since mentioned that you've been in aa b4, I'm sure the saying nothing changes if nothing changes sounds familiar
