Today
A couple days ago I was having a bad day and I started writing before bed. I started thinking about good things about the day. Anyway, I wanted to share what I wrote because to me it demonstrates how "The worst day sober is better than the best day drinking/using." That is starting to feel more and more true to me. Even when I'm struggling, I have so much to be proud of and thankful for.
Today
Today I didn't smoke any cigarettes.
Today I didn't drink any alcohol.
Today I didn't use any drugs.
Today I brushed my teeth, had a shower and put lotion on.
Today I had a nice hot bath with a book.
Today I posted on SR.
Today I ate a good breakfast.
Today I ate fruits and vegetables.
Today I took time to be thankful for my recovery.
Today I took time to support others in their recovery.
Today I played my drums.
Today I wrote limericks.
Today I wrote about how I was felt when I was upset.
Today I wrote a gratitude list.
Today I drank a cup of tea.
Today I made some coffee.
Today I found things to laugh at.
Today I took care of myself.
Today I did AWESOME!!
Today I'm proud of myself.

I'm proud that I have become an all-day drinker (seltzer water with lime, that is). I can have it first thing in the morning, can drink all afternoon and have a nice dinner and then drink some more.
