The rewards of 4 weks of sobriety!
After 10 years of almost daily drinking, I have made it to my fourth week of sobriety.
Just wanted to list the changes I have noticed in me.
1-No more guilt and shame about my drinking
2-Improved self esteem, no longer feel like I have no control over me!
3-No more scheeming how, when and where to drink and hide the bottles
4-No hangovers
5-I am a better spouse
6-I am definitelly a better mother
7-I am present in the moment
8-Extremely restful sleep, cant get enough these days
9-No hiding alcohol in cups, under sink, in a thermos, in my closet!
10-No more juggling the bottles to the garbage can and wrapping them so they wont clank and neighbors wont notice I have a problem!
11-No more having to refill the bottles that I tapped into the night before so my husband wont notice I have a problem
12-Gradually increasing energy from day to day
I still think of you alcohol, but YOU controlled my life. I am fighting to get that life back!
