Hello everyone:
Another newbie here. I've been lurking for a couple weeks. Today is day one sober..... again. So I've decided to join up and take it a little more seriously this time.

A little of my story: my problem with alcohol began almost 4 years ago after a bad break up. I used booze to deal with the pain, and soon learned it was easier to drink then deal with my feelings. My drinking has escalated to the point where it scares me. I know how dysfunctional and unhealthy it is, and it has a hold on my life that it shouldn't have.

I'm going to be truthful and say I have mixed feelings about getting sober. I love booze, it makes me feel good. It quells my anxiety, makes me funny and it makes me happy. But I know I have to quit. *sigh.....


Seems like a great group of people, so in an odd way, I'm happy to be here.
