BIG STEP. I finally went to AA.

Hi everyone. Its been a rough ride and battle since I relapsed at Christmas. I have just been to a meeting and I am going to another one tomorrow. I have found someone else who is in the same situation as myself and I know them well so its so nice to have an AA buddy. I have been contacting other members of the fellowship and been having lengthy conversations over the phone and I didn't realise how refreshing and supportive it really can be.

I thought I could do this alone and the last load of attempts have really proved that its just not possible and I have surrendered to the help of others. I am starting to realise that this time could be my last time, for good reasons, being that I can become sober for the rest of my life and lead a fantastic life. OR for the worst reasons, meaning I could be dead if I relapse again. I am so happy and honoured to be part of SR and AA and feel that together we can all get well together. My journey has only just begun and this time I'm going to do it the right way. The AA way. Peace.

welcome!

I'm glad you found AA. It's been absolutely essential to my sobriety and, honestly, I think it ought to just be called "Humans Anonymous" - because pretty much everyone could use what AA gives....
