Sober weekender thread! Jan 31 - February 2! All welcome,
Hey everyone! A little later start to the weekend thread from Maine here!
So happy and glad to be here with you all.
If you think the weekends are tough and you want the added support of the whole team then simply lurk and read or jump right in and say hello!
I am in! Have a quiet weekend planned. Nothing to jump up and down about. Those are the kind that can bite me in the arse if I don't pay attention.
Took a while to learn that paying attention meant keeping my sobriety right out in front. It sucks to have to deal with every day, day in and day out but I think of what if I drink. Then I deal with much worse day in and day out.
So it's seems the lesser of two evils.
But after being sober awhile... Well... Sobriety is no evil at all... But a blessing beyond my expectations. An awakening of sorts.
How about we just get this moving along shall we?

Lets get things up and running!!
Been a stressful long week at work, thankfully it's Fri and I'm off the weekend.
Tonight gonna catch up on some much needed sleep and then roll on a weekend of sport.
6 Nations rugby starts Sat, with Ireland playing Sun, plus I have 2 Ice Hockey games that I'm attending, both Sat and Sun.
. . . and then roll on the Superbowl Sunday night, starts I think 11.30pm local time, I have Monday booked off work, so don't have to panic when it gets close to 3am and it maybe goes into overtime!!
Got my plans sorted in my head for a successsful Sober weekend!! . . . So lets do this!!

Thanks Weasey...it's been a very stressful week for me at work, lots of stress and filing a union grievance is never fun....
I have to deal with everyone else's stupidity, but I don't ave to add mine to the pile by drinking....
ring ring, lets hope that sound is the delivery man with my induction cookto thank you amazon)p so I can at least boil some water in my empty construction hole of a kitchen.

Snowmageddon has had me off work since Tuesday afternoon, so I have been weekending for 3 days already! It'll be good to have some company for a change!
FINISHED my Tax Planning online course on Thursday. So glad to have that done. I was getting mighty sick of calculating tax basis and amortization.
Snow should melt off today and tomorrow. Super Bowl party at a friends house on Sunday. I plan to make some jalapeno poppers and take some diet ginger ale - my beverage of choice!

I'm in.
It's been a cruddy, disjointed week. I'm looking forward to have some time to relax, catch up on cleaning/work. I'm also hoping to go out to a new (to us) Korean restaurant for dinner tomorrow night.

I'm in, too. After I hit 30 days, I'm coming into a harder patch again. I'm so pleased with where I am, but I'm feeling that undefined, anxious and uncomfortable feeling again and I refuse to drink it away (or drink it worse).
No big plans - just catch up and kid stuff. I'm focusing on how I actually enjoy spending time with my kids now. Last weekend I actually watched the family movie on family movie night. Unheard of! Looking forward to a repeat.
