Many of us here are recovering successfuly.
I partied for a long time, too. I like to say, "I went to a party and didn't leave for thirty years".
Which is somewhat true. But, it wasn't much of a party after 20 years. I was drinking almost every day. I had lost control. It's a progressive thing.
Good for you for reaching out. You'll find lots of support here.
