Resistance is not futile
My AV is still on the property tonight using all sorts of tactics and techniques trying to persuade me to drink this weekend. No, not tonight, but this weekend. Weird I know.
Or is it?
It knows I'm all alone this weekend (kids w/their dad and hubby out of the country). Those used to be the times we'd party the hardest. I used to plan them out for days in advance, hence the AV starting today. Hell, it's even trying to use the Super Bowl as an excuse. It's pulling out all the stops.
It was starting to breakdown my resistance until I remembered the 24 hour thread. As crazy and as simplistic as this sounds, just telling myself that all I needed to worry about is the time remaining on my order of 24 hours started to calm me down a bit. As soon as I was able to, I logged on and ordered another round. I'll keep on ordering for as long as I need to. The good news about that thread is that it never closes. There's never a last call. I can't tell you how grateful I am for that and for all of you.
I'm gonna make it this go 'round. One day at a time.
I'm trying to have fun this time with sobriety (why not, right?) so I can't help but have this song running thru my mind tonight:

Easy Peasy.
Tony was the same character in every, single sitcom - Tony. He really new how to show his range, didn't he? Mona always creeped me out.
