Sometimes we can lean on other people, and sometimes they will lean on us.

But, we are all on this recovery journey together.

Ditto on Anna's post. I would not be sober today if it weren't for SR. The people on this site have given me what I needed to make the difference between picking up and not picking up. In turn, I try to return that favor by helping when someone else is in need. Tis what it's all about

I use it as a place to interact with people who have the same issue I have. It's one of my comfort zones. My wife knows my struggle and is more than supportive but you guys understand my struggle.

I was given so much support and encouragement when I got here, broken and tired, and now like to give back that support to others.

Everything that has been said so far, plus it keeps me on track as my period of sobriety gets longer.

Having this family has made fighting the demon- if not easier/ at least do able,- something i can attempt. I have learned so much about what to expect and been held accountable via sign ins...... I would be lost without you all.

The best use for me is because it is one of the few places where I can "lay it on the line", no BS. I don't have to explain my motivation, justify my actions, or "gloss over" the bad parts. I can tell it like it is, getting real with myself is what helps me keep grounded which helps me remain sober. How do I do that? Read, post, repeat; Read, post, repeat!
