Knock all you want, ain't nobody home
I've found myself with an unexpected night on my own as both my kids have either an extra-curricular activity or a last minute invitation to a basketball game.
The minute I found this out, I'll be damned if my AV didn't saunter up my driveway and start knocking on the door. What a conniving, smarmy little beast!
I didn't even open it as I knew if I even cracked it just a tiny little bit she would barge in with her jug of wine, plop herself down on the couch and settle in for the night. Instead I told her thru the door that I had already accepted another invitation tonight for a party at SR's place. She told me that was ok, she didn't mind - she'll be back again another day.
Somehow I don't doubt it.
The very first thing I did when I got home from work was order myself another heaping helping of 24 hours of sobriety on the appropriate thread.
This is just another reminder that I must remain ever-vigilant and keep coming back. After all, it works when I work it, right?
