Two Weeks Sober

So in about 45 minutes, I'll be officially sober for two weeks. It's no longer just single digit days. As a motivator for people who are even earlier in recovery than me, here's a list of the things that have been made better since I quit.

1. My face looks thinner.
2. My skin has returned back to normal color.
3. I've officially lost 10 pounds.
4. Blood pressure has went down about 30 points for top and bottom number.
5. I have saved OVER $200.
6. I'm spending more time with my wife and kid.
7. This one is tough to explain. It feels like I have more fuel in the tank even though I'm not sleeping as well as I would like.
8. Food tastes better.
9. My liver and gut don't hurt all day.
10. My workouts are SO much better.

This is only the top ten. There are many more things that have gotten better since quitting. And this is only a mere 14 days.

Congrats to you, Justin. More importantly, thank you for sharing your list with those of us just starting out. It helps so very much.

Two weeks for me too. My skin is so much more healthy looking and I don't have dark circles under my eyes. I'm able to run farther and farther everyday. I don't have to make recycle runs for all my glass bottles every week :P. Thanks for the post Justin, I'm keeping track of you. (I'm watching you, muahahaha). j/k

Justin - Well done! And great observations. Your awareness will get you thru this. Enjoy your family. It's amazing what we missed when we were less than fully sober. Again Congrats and 2 weeks is GREAT.

Thanks for sharing that Justin. Three that I notice: no sore throat and gums, gone are my watery itchy eyes. I'm day 24.

Best of luck

My favorite thing since getting sober is waking up feeling good. Such a difference from how I used to wake up.
