Day 4, tired

Without a doubt my least favorite part of trying to sober up is the chronic insomnia. Yesterday I hit a point where I had been up for almost 3.5 days. Out of exhaustion I finally got a little sleep, and sleep might be nice a word. It was more like light daydreaming. I did feel a little better.

Later I'm on the forums, I notice it's 1am. Try to sleep, nothing. I check my phone, it's now 3am. By 4:30 I convinced myself that sleep probably was not going to happen but I tried one more time, passed out. Woke up tired and drenched in sweat (like someone poured water on me). I was pretty sure it was like 8, but I stayed there in bed for a little bit but I'm dehydrated, need water. I check the time, it's 12:45 in the afternoon. I'm still tired. I kinda toyed with the idea of going back to bed but I do have things I need done, and I certainly need a shower (when I stop drinking I tend to sweat like a water park).

Conrats on Day 4. Have you considered seeing a doctor at all? Withdrawals sure tired me out too, but never hurts to get it checked out with the extreme insomnia you are experiencing. Especially with the extremes that you went to recently it woudln't be a bad idea.

Well done

Have you spoken to your Dr. ?

They can give you something to smooth out the first week or so.

Best of luck

No, have not gone to a doc. There is a hospital down the street. If I start feeling worse I can certainly go. I went once and they gave me Librium and I slept a lot.

Usually by day ten my sleep is back to normal is my experience.
