Some quick coping skills needed.....
So on day 5, doing great, however I see a problem on the horizon.... Being it's Friday and I work in the construction industry, we had a few issues today and now most/all of my co workers are getting off early... this always means an early exit to the bars. So in about 1 - 2 hours I'm going to have a flood of guys pushing me to go out. I think with this crowd, saying I quit is going to get a LOT of jokes made and probably will ramp up the peer pressure.... That stupid voice in my head is already telling me I could have 1 or 2 and switch to water... This being my first weekend I really haven't yet had time to deal with anyone pushing me to drink yet any quick advice?!
I found the invitations to drink in early recovery really stressful. With time it gets easier- in this situation a polite decline and if someone pushed i would change the subject and wish them a pleasant time.
Now If I go out I drink tonic water and I don't apologise or explain to anyone- it's never a big deal as I now no longer mix with big drinkers

I honestly would not go. I have a similar situation at my work today, a big happy hour this afternoon. I am going to avoid it at all costs. Easier said than done and that might not be possible for you in your situation but worth a try.

Oh, my plan is to not go... at this very moment I don't want to go, it doesn't sound fun. I I'm just a little anxious, and haven't had to say no yet to a bunch of people yet, so was looking for some advice on ways to avoid...and there's that damn voice in the back of my head already trying to creep in there with his excuses! thanks for all the comments....
