total WTH??? Moment

SO its been just over 100 days. I try and check in to the 24 club each day- and for at least a week alcohol hasn't been a temptation- a nice surprise. Today, however, as I was doing the laundry I found myself almost heading to the place I use to keep beer. Like the past 100 plus days hadnt happened- it juyst seemed like a normal act. Needless to sway I DID NOT take a drink but what a scarey thing to happen- almost forgetting I am an alcoholic. Yikes.:gaah

Hang in there, liberated!

But you didn't give in to temptation. That is great! That is a victory.

Congrats on 100 days!

Congrats on 100 days! That's fabulous. Like you say, you did not take a drink today. Every day we don't take a drink is a major victory. :)

Thanks all- it was just downright CREEPY to totally have blanked on the fact that I can not drink. Is this sneaky AV? Probably...............grrrr................

Congrats on 100 days sober! :)

Congrats on 100 days! We indeed were completely brainwashed by alcohol and the reprogramming can be a bit taxing. I'll still have to remind myself periodically that I am completely free to commit to plans early in the day on Saturday and Sunday. No way I would have been physically able to do anything before.

Congrats on your sober time!

Those thoughts creep into my head too, especially when I feel uncomfortable in a situation or I'm in a situation where I used to drink. I'm hoping that over time the thoughts go away as I replace them with positive ones. Hang in there!

I found myself moving by rote a few times - checking the fridge for beer etc - I'm not sure if it's addiction or habit...whatever it is it's a pretty good reminder not to get complacent.

Well done on 100 days :c011:
I've read that 'landmark' days can be danger zones - so hang in there and keep doing what you're doing :) Xx

PS the curse of 30 days kept getting me from August until December last year - Not any more though ;)

Way to go. 100 is a huge milestone and we are proud of you.
I am nipping at your heals at 73. DO NOT let me catch you.
