Welcome, mrnigelt! I get acupuncture every other week, which calms me. My acupuncturist has me on some herbs, milk thistle and extra vitamin d...they seem to be helping me with my emotional ups and downs.

That said, I'm not a doctor and you should consult your own physician to figure out what is right for you.

Not sure about the behind the eyes bit but feeling a bit foggy is pretty normal mrnigelt. If you're concerned tho please do see a Dr.

The sleep thing I get. Any time I stop drinking I can expect to get chronic insomnia. By day 10, I'm sleeping 10-12 hours in a row (so it does get better). I'm in the middle of another go at it myself and I'm at semi-insomnia. Can't go right to sleep, then pass out so hard I'm drooling on my pillow.

Day 17 nothing to drink. Feeling good but having a REALLY hard time waking up. I almost feel hungover. The insomnia isn't helping with that I am sure.

Feeling a bit more "normal" now a lot more energy in the gym.

Welcome to SR and congrats. Your head will clear as the body detoxes. One thing to remember is, you have to want to do this for YOU, all the other reasons can be invalid at times and make the stress harder to deal with. Good Luck, stay safe
