Hi all!
Hi all!
I am a 43 year old alcoholic woman. I began drinking socially at the age of 12 and by the time I reached my early 30's I was a daily drinker. At 36 I became sober for 2 1/2 years. The day after our daughters 16th birthday my husbands position was terminated and the drinking began again.
I drink everywhere. I manage a restaurant and am often times the last one out (sometimes I don't remember leaving). I don't sleep well at night. I get cold sweats , bloody noses & have gained 50+ lbs in the last 4 years. My family doesn't give me to much of a hard time about it as it makes it worse.
I know that this is killing me and my actions could certainly hurt others. Today is day 2 of recovery. Soooo glad to have found this group!

glad you are here and have joined SR.
this is a very important step towards recovery.
we are in this together. i wish you luck and success in your journey to sobriety.
are you planning on stopping the drinking?
(if so... i hope you start right now).

Welcome sher!
It's so good you found us. I think being part of this community will help you so much. I was drinking all day when I found SR & I'm not sure I'd have stayed sober without it. We're happy you are here & ready to change your life. Congratulations on Day 2.

I'm glad you decided to get sober. You've joined a wonderful family here. I give a lot of credit for my sobriety to this site. I hope the support you find here will help you stay sober for good.

Thanks everyone!
I do want to be sober and it is all or nothing for me. No such thing as moderation for me.
LittleRhody, I start a new job next week. Still managing but no alcohol on site. Very excited.
