I think seeing a Dr is a good first step, especially if you have felt suicidal recently.
Do you have one you trust?

I can guarantee that if you were to kill yourself, not only would you hurt the ones you love, but you'd also destroy their lives in the process. Nobody's problems would be solved, and everything would get much worse.

Millions of people have gotten sober after either contemplating or attempting the ultimate sacrifice. I was there myself, but I'm still here and still sober.

You need to open up to your family about the seriousness of your problem and find the support you need, with or without their help. You can start by setting up an appointment with your doctor, canvassing local mental health clinics for face-to-face support, and looking into AA.

Gosh I really feel your pain. So sorry you're going through all this. Ive discovered if I dont get on this board and read a whole bunch when I first get up in the morning, or read parts I underlined in the Big Book, I'm in danger of drinking that day. What if you did the same, have a routine you can turn to and get the "no drinking" mindset going as soon as you wake up?

I was the expert at this. If it was vodka though I'd just fill I back up with water like nobody would notice. They did!
