Day 4 eve, can't sleep and itchy.
Hi guys im still sober almost 4 days, lying here in bed i cant sleep and feel like i have little crawlies crawling over my skin this is always a uncomfortable night for me tossing and turning wrestling with the duvet.
Feeling positive and have started getting back into reading AA literature.
Eating lots of cakes and drinking fizzy drinks to keep sugar up, lol i ate a giant cup cake with a huge dollop of butter cream ice ing it was devine.
Thanks for listening and for support.

Congrats on four days sober! The itching is common in early sobriety. Might be your body getting rid of toxins or maybe your nerve endings are super sensitive right now. I had itching too, but it eventually went away.
The sleeping patterns will normalize but it takes a while. Stay sober.

Hi Mavrick,
These are common patterns in detox, I also had itching, pins & needles, weird tingling sensations during the first few days. I think these are reactions of our nervous system adjusting. My sleep is still pretty ***** up (two weeks sober), wake up many times or just can't sleep, waking up with panic attacks etc. Quite uncomfortable but these things will settle with time. I actually don't like to stay in bed tossing and turning if I really can't sleep because it tends to cause me even more anxiety, rather turn on the lights, get on the computer to check SR, read a book, or even work. Will always sleep eventually after a couple days when my body is exhausted.
Oh and yeah snacks can help!

Yeah what all of these people said. Mine went away after like 5 days. I still get a little case of them every now and then, and I'm like 10 days sober.
Good luck! All the bad stuff starts going away, and the good stuff starts happening in time. It's a good feeling.

Well done Mate, another day. A good nights sleep will change everything.
This may help. It's a natural health thing - put two cups of Epsom salts into the bath tub and then run the hot tap. You soak for about twenty minutes and it supposedly draws out the toxins.
It can't do any harm really, and lets face it, at this early stage we have a lot of toxins to expel. Plus doing something to heal ourselves is a positive move.
Good luck M8
