with sobriety comes clarity, both mental and physical. we worked on the physical today. the girls helped with re-organizing their room, clothing (some were 2 years too small and stuffed in drawers with the rest; not pretty), and with dinner. we made my homemade macaroni & cheese ... all from scratch (including the cheese sauce). so proud of their efforts.

Ironically, I had mentioned the term "the little things" earlier in my post and how they really aren't so "little" after all. It is so true. Today, my daughter and I spent the day shopping. This is something we could never do together before because I couldn't work it into or around my daily drinking schedule. How sad. We had such a great day. I can't believe how many years I've wasted. I'm so ashamed. I'm so happy that you had a nice day with your children as well
don't be ashamed ... it's not the years that were wasted, although it may feel that way. children can be very forgiving if you let them. words of wisdom from someone who is just out of the trenches.
Jayelle113,
I read your "about me" ... 1/13, hopefully this is week 1 under your belt. it gets better. i'm no expert at sobriety, but have learned enough to know that it doesn't make you feel worse than the havoc wreaked by drinking. it hurts ... sometimes painful, like having to let go of a dear friend. or admitting to a peanut allergy
