I tried NA wine once and it was awful... I also think that I was trying to get to what really made me want that glass of wine... The warmth... The buzz.... And that was dangerous...

So I just would rather have my ginger ale and lime...

Having the wine in church is just setting myself up for failure.

Tomorrow is my first Sunday since being sober.

I'm glad I'm better prepared now.

Non alcoholic Beers, Wines and Ciders.

Well 5 years ago there may have been 1 or 2 around, they seems to be loads now.

Here is the benefit of my experience. I bought a bottle of NA wine in August, because I wanted to cut down before I stopped.

Unfortunately, you can drink a bottle of non-alcohol wine like Ribena or any other fruit juice. It does sort of have the same taste of wine, which makes you want the real thing more. The same with beers and cider, you actually crave the object you wish to be free from.

If I drank non alcohol wine, within a few days you will be back drinking the real thing. That is no kind of recovery for me.

What mouthwashes are non-alcoholic? I don't remember. I know listerine has alcohol in it.

I use an alcohol base mouthwash, I have never been tempted to drink the mouthwash only rinse and spit.

Personally I've never tried any non alcoholic beer/wine, but I'd say that the people that you are going to be around a lot while Sober, will only get the message by stating the case that your not drinking anymore, my mates now don't mention anything, as they now just accept, but I had to have the talk, those that didn't accept it, I no longer want to be in their company.

It ruins my day dealing with clueless, non understanding people pushing their own opinions on the situation, when all I want is a Cranberry Juice!!
I think most that say just one, know that its not just one that you will have and therefore you have to ask are they really your friends?

I don't like the taste of wine anyway, although I once drank it by the gallon. I prefer schloer or appeltize. You shouldn't care what other people think. If they have a problem with it, it says more about them than it does you xxxx

A warning: these products when used with Antabuse can result in serious complications.

Please remember that the words Cunning, Powerful and insidious are closely related to alcoholism. My undisciplined ism and thinking like this topic was not a healthy topic for me and others I knew.

BE WELL

I once heard a woman at AA calling it drinking by proxy. Luckily I didn't ever reallly like the taste of alcohol anyway, except for perhaps Baileys x

I think going to bars with friends so early into recovery is not a good idea
