Two years sober soon

Hey guys :)

I haven't been here for a long time, I fell out of habit of coming here as my life got really busy. However, at the end of this month I will be two years sober :)

In the past i've been one of the biggest villains on this site, but it's through the early tolerance and advice of the members here that i've made it this far.

I had a heart attack and was diagnosed with alcoholic cardiomyopathy, which I am happy to report has now been reversed to a good LV function. I am an example that no matter how bad your health is, or for however long you have drank for, there is definitely hope.

Alcoholic drinks exist in the world, but to me they are as appealing to drink as battery acid. My wife has been sober for two years as well and our lives together have been renewed with a sense of life and energy that I am grabbing in handfuls.

I'm going to stick around for a while and give what advice I can. I failed so many times in the early days but if I can make it to this point, anyone can!

Hey man, congratulations!
Your post is just what I needed today.
I got 32 days under my belt and I feel pretty damn good overall.
It seems to be a little easier every day because I feel a little better every day.

Keep on keepin on'!!!

D.D.

Hello old rocker

I'm new to this site. Only 36 hours sober and I can't thank you enough for posting what you did. It gives a guy like me a tremendous amount of hope hearing your story. Thanks man and take care.

OldRocker we knew you could. :) Congratulations & thanks for sharing the joy.

Thanks for posting. I also was very cynical about this site and sobriety in general. I've come around, and your story helps reenforce that I've made the correct choice.

Congrats on your almost two years :)
Alcohol induced cardio myopathy is near and dear to my own heart! My husband rebounded from it in his 20s and then again 13 years later this past year

Glad to have a notorious SR poster back:). Looking forward to your posts.
