6 Days

Hello everyone! Today marks day 6 of my sobriety....the 6 LONGEST DAYS OF MY LIFE. I don't consider myself a falling down drunk but I do feel that my drinking was getting in the way of me having a happy future. I spent many years taking care of other people; sick parents, nieces an nephews etc.; and now that I have no one left to care for I feel it's time for me. I no longer have my 8pm happy hour(s). When do things begin to improve? I have had a mild headache all week and am having trouble going to sleep at night. I am quite fidgety but can't seem to get any of the many projects I want completed started. How soon till this passes?

Well done on 6 days. It's early still and everyones healing time is different, but if you feel too agitated, perhaps you should have a word with your doctor x

Congratulations on 6 days!! I agree that checking with your dr. may be an option. I always figure that we usually don't become alcoholics/addicts overnight, it takes a little while for our body to get used to doing without what it's gotten for so long.

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

Welcome pattiopatti

If you're like me you drank for years...so it takes a little while for our minds and bodies to recuperate.

We;'re all different in how long it takes to get over that initial transition p0hase from drinker to sober but you should start feeling a little better soon tho

things do get better, believe me

why not join our Class of January support thread?

Six days sober is very early in recovery. Give yourself a few weeks to start getting back to normal. Be patient. It will get better.

Thank you everyone ! I can't believe I can speak this openly and honestly without judgement. I have a feeling this will be a great help.
