this time I'm not giving up!
I'm new to this site and I'm really glad I found it. I'm starting my recovery today! I have stuggled to quit before many times but here I am again. I'm super excited to quit this time though, not scared or deflated as in the past. I'm reading up on the pros of quitting and pumping myself up for a better future! I cant wait to feel better, I can't wait to wake up without a hangover. I'm 31and I have been an alcholic since I was in my teens. I drink more than a 12pk beer everynight. Every single night... actully much much more on the weekends.. Uggh. I'm ready to be free from this addiction. I have to, need to, be free from this. Day one!
Congrats Cherryreyn
Like you today is my first day of sobriety. I woke up this morning sick as can be (as with just about every other morning) and I said enough is enough. I have said that before, but this time it's different.
It is a boost in confidence to know that there is someone out there starting their new life today as well as all the people on here that are fighting the good fight everyday.
Like you I cant wait to feel better and be FREE from all of this nonsense as well. Reading all of these posts and your post is a real help. Thanks for posting

Not having a hangover and not being groggy all the time is what I loved about being sober! My job performance immediately soared and my outlook on life was much better. Geez, I remember those days of first becoming sober, you know, not having to find a corner of the shop to hide in to take a nap. That was a big change!
