Talking I am not new to recovery or AA

Hi I have been sober for 24 years. I have a strong foundation in AA and other areas including counseling and therapy for other issues I have had and still have. I was very disturbed by the meetings and the people I was exposed too for years where I lived with my ex husband. I was just recently divorced and relocated to a different county and the few meetings I ventured too were more like what I was used to. I do not want to give up going to live meetings but ma still a little gunshy after my negative experiences. I have alot to offer a newcomer just need to find a sponsor for myself and get back to basics. Would love to hear some feedback. Thanks.

Twenty four years is impressive. I had twenty years sober before I threw it away for a bottle of wine seven years ago. (I'm sober now)

I'm glad you joined the family.

Hi. I can to an extent identify with your feelings. I was very active in the fellowship and it bothered me a bit differently on some points like so many people that the program saved their lives don't do anything regarding giving back, instead are the great "I am" and try to prove it.
I often need to ponder the slogans hanging on the wall to help clear my vision along with acceptance of the fact that most that are in attendance are far from cured including myself and I've been around many years.
If we like/dislike everything at our meetings we are not going to enough meetings has a lot of truth for me.

BE WELL
