Librium?

Librium for alcohol withdrawals? My doctor prescribed 25mg's 4 times a day.. I'm scared to take them and I don't why... I think I should though as it may have been part of the reason for my last relapse.. Got another check up today and was told to take them as needed for this week and then go in next week for a follow up..

Just looking for positive reinforcement

Never taken them but I know many who have.

You'll get a variety of stories and attitudes on benzoes here - the bottom line is do you trust your Dr or not?

Isn't it funny we're never afraid to write ourselves off on alcohol but we baulk at following doctors orders?

I took Librium in rehab. Everyone did. Made detox a breeze. It will greatly reduce, if not eliminate, your withdrawal symptoms. Good luck.

Benzos are very safe when used as directed by a reputable Dr. I would feel safer taking the Benzos asidirected rather than going cold turkey.

Hey Hawk, it sounds like you don't trust yourself / your body alone to handle this. Why not trust a medical professional as a start and build on the potential result of that later?

I took it in rehab and it did help immensely with withdrawals. Not sure how you'll be spending your time in the next few days though. There is no way I could work or do much of anything while I was taking it. Spacey, dazed, and out of it.

It is safe for many, but if you do take it try to be monitored and keep close eye on how it is making you feel. That is good that you are being cautious and aware.

Hi kris!
I love having a kindred spirit out there. I took one last night and fell asleep at 7... woke up this morning at 6. Felt a little groggy but ok, not nearly as bad as waking up with a hangover. I hope your day 3 is going well. Hopefully we'll both be touting day 4 soon.
