Work Dinner

Hi All,

I'm just thinking ahead to this evening when a colleague and I will be taking a job candidate out for dinner. I can't recall a single time in my adult life when I've gone out to dinner and not ordered a drink (and I'm a bit over 40).

I'm certain that I won't cave to any temptation this time, but I just wanted to post this so that I've explicitly acknowledged the situation.

On day 6 and feeling really good. I know from the past that once I start feeling good, my AV (which I'd never really thought about before) can be very convincing.

Best,
ODog

I am going out to dinner Saturday night for my birthday, and it will be the first time in my adult life as well that I've not ordered a drink. I am sticking to my guns and staying sober, I've come too far.

Dinner was very pleasant. No problems with temptation (this time). I didn't even think about it. I drank a heck of a lot of water, though. It was one of those places that fills up the glasses constantly. I was sloshing as we walked back to the car.

Nice job, olivedog! The first party I attended and didn't drink alcohol I think I drank so much soda water I felt like I was floating around. Now I tend to taper off or end up peeing a whole lot. :p

OliveDog - Good job on the pre-planning & making it through. Each time we get over one of these hurdles we gain strength and confidence.
