Withdrawal Blues
Hi all,
I have been drinking beer for 8 years. Mon thru Thu after work I would get 2 24oz beer for the ride home, a 35 minute drive. When I get home I would contiue drinking until I went to bed or passed out. On fri sat and sun I would wake up about 4 am, have coffe and no later than 6:00 am start drinking.
Jan 3 I was robbed, Yes i was drunk when it happened, Drove home called police, scared of getting a dwi. after everything with the police and finally getting home I drank more beer until I passed out at about 5:00 am
got up at about 8:00am started drinking and headed to deer camp, drank beer allday passed out about 7:00pm, woke up about 12:00pm noticed people around camp fire partying got up and joined them until about 5:00am.
Woke up at about 8 or 9 am had a few cups of coffe then started drinking again, about a hour later drove home drinking, pulled up to my house, turned my truck off, sat in my truck for a minute I could not remember driving home,
Sat im my truck and finally realized i am alcoholic, Took all my beer and put it in the trash, Went inside and talked to my wife, and told her I'm a alcoholic,
went to bed woke up abot 5:00pm started drinking coffe and water thinking about friday the only thing i can remember is a gun pointed at me, stayed up all night thinking about it and drinking coffe and water. Monday morning had the shakes real bad dont know if it was from friday or not drinking.
I had a severe headache, sweated bad win i sleep(not much sleep), my hands shook, I threw up all day monday, But I have not had a beer since sunday.
Thanks for letting me tell my story
Mike
P.S. I have not had a beer since jan 5, withdrawals were pretty bad for about
3 days. Now I only have a slight headache and hand tremors with a little brain fog.

Welcome Mike! You've done a great job admitting what needed to be done & taking action. Congratulations on your sober time. You'll continue to feel stronger & a little better each day.
For me the fog (feeling like an alien), headache, restlessness started to be better at around a month. It's normal to feel that way - but thankfully you never have to go through this again. We're happy you joined us.
