Addictive Personality
Hello Everyone,
Last day of two beers. Last night I had a little problem with my BP and tachycardia rising but took a little extra meds of both. Tomorrow I'm down to one and see a doctor, new, a primary physician on Tuesday. A little anxious but no shakes yet. Hope this helps my withdrawals til I see him.
The truth is I am getting nervous now that I know the day is almost here.
You all be strong today and that will help me too.
Kris

I am strong. I, too, kind of weaned, but it was pretty quick. I went from an unknown volume of wine and scotch on Christmas Eve, to three or four glasses of wine on Christmas, to one vodka the next day. I don't know if this quick of a reduction made any difference, but though I had and am still having (I think) symptoms, I never really felt extremely hungover (classic immediate symptoms of hangover). Just tired and a bit mortified.

Good going Hero.
You're on track.
I haven't had a hangover in a long, long, time. Just was killing myself. Reckoning day is coming soon.
Last night found me feeling a little off balance, a little shaky inside this afternoon.
Hope its not a prediction of the real thing.

Yes, I too had been drinking so much that hangovers (other than sluggishness) had become a thing of the past. My first days sober were pretty scary. Actually, before that early Christmas morning I awoke with racing heart and almost checked in. Amazingly, despite getting unbelievably hammered on scotch, I wasn't hungover Christmas Day, but I was taken aback enough to drink moderately that day. I had a shooter of vodka in the house on the 26th and thought that might ease withdrawal. First few days were wrought with anxiety attacks, shakes, and dizziness. Several times I considered seeing a doctor but just (foolishly I think) toughed it out. I went to Safeway and used one of those machines to check my BP; it wasn't too high so I rode it out. I survived, though, and here I am. You'll survive, too, but I say pay close attention to your body if you've been drinking heavily for awhile. Good to know you're seeing a doctor. I've got some appointments for general checkups near the end of the month.
