Sick!

First illness since stopping the poison and BOY am I longing for the days when I'd get a happy buz and fall asleep!!! Instead it's plain old motrin to combat the fever- . Keep reminding myself the bad might feel worse but the good times are even better when sober! 103 fever- ugh!

When I was drinking, the hangovers would feel like having a bad flu. Now that I'm sober, being sick feels like the hangovers used to feel.

I remember when I first went to an AA meeting and this old bloke said. 'don't be tempted to have a drink if you get the flu.' And I thought, 'what on earth is he going on about.' You just gave me a flashback lol.x

If it's any consolation, when recently sober, I got over the last cold I had much faster than ever before.

When drinking, the cold would last forever and turn into a respiratory infection.

When sober, four or five days max.

Get Better....

Get better. That is pretty high fever. Lots of water and electrolytes.
I went down memory lane after reading your post. crazy but awesome how we all can relate is some way.
I started my sobriety 2 days early than planned due to same illness. I wanted a hot tottie sooo bad..
instead I did hot lemon water with ginger. Stay inside and stay warm.

Man I hope you're right -
That means I'm better tomorrow or the next day.
This sucks!
