Thanks for letting us know.

Do you mind if I ask why it was better than you expected?

I am not a practicing religious person, I believe, I pray and I was a bit concerned that was going to be overwhelming. It wasn't. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. It was so comforting to hear other stories and to be able to speak to people that wear my same shoes. I really felt a bit lighter when I left, I believe I was at the point (105 days) that I needed more than just me doing it. I don't know what I would of done without all of you up to this point!! Just as they say you have to change your workout routine after a bit to get max results, I knew I needed to add some more resources to keep my recovery moving and growing. Thanks for all the well wishes!!

I love AA

Great! My first two sucked and I decided that wasn't the route for me. Tried one more the next day and I've made 3 a week for the last 2 years. Something made sure I " got it" that night!

that is so awesome! I'm so glad you had a pleasant experience and have found some support :) I agree, it's always nice to have that commonality with others.

That's great news! I've been to a couple, first one I was so scared I could barely talk but the second I went to I just opened up and let wail. Everyone at this meeting was a lot older which is not always an issue but were a little too full on for me being so new. Now I know they were only trying to help. I broke my sobriety after this meeting but it wasn't AA's fault. They did let me know of meetings in my area where I could meet more people my age which I am definitely going to attend as soon as I am home.

My Dad has been taking me to meetings for years. Even before I started drinking. I always thought to myself in my teen years that I would ever need AA - boy was I wrong. I need it bad and I look forward to growing up for years to come in the program!
