50 Days Sober!!
Thanks everyone for your support!!
I knocked the presentation out of the park with a 10 slide visual, created courtesy of Steve Jobs, and made possible by Bill Gates, the forum doesn't allow me to mention software by name, but I assure you it was a very equal effort amongst competitors!!
The questions were a bit tougher, but they always are at interviews, you just have to prepare well and do your best. I'll find out end Jan, start of Feb.
Anyways, I really wanted to share my drive home from the interview, it was about an 80 mile round trip journey to where I had to get to, even though it was an internal interview. On the journey home I was flicking stations and this song came onto the radio:
It was on my mind as I drove past my usual liqueur store, the idea of having a drink, for a split second, this craziness dared to raise it's head, and the lyrics spoke to me:
For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
The right to say the things he feels and not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows and did it my way!
Through Alcoholism I lost myself, I didn't recognise who I even was anymore, as I never felt anything for a long time due to the numbness of alcohol, well now I'm doing things my way, not the meaningless life alcohol wants me to live! I wouldn't have even been driving home from an interview if it were not for Sobriety!!
As Frankie says it's time to do things OUR WAY!!

Great Post Purple!! I can totally relate to everything you said. I am on day forty something and made it through the holidays as well. Feeling much more positive, notice a difference with my work as well. I have had the same conversations with my counselor regarding life without alcohol when we were children. Of course we had fun! Childhood without all the worry was the best time of our short lived lives.. Now, it is up to us to take the "bull by the horns" and make the best of our sober lives, finding enjoyment, staying busy and active. Right there with you and CONGRATULATIONS on your success to this point. Keep it Going!
