weekend thread jan 3rd 4th & 5th of 2014 come help ourselves get through

Hey y'all ,
It is the weekend again , they seem to be quite regular at the moment . So it's friday morning in the UK work to get through and then freedom … freedom is what you make of it , like so much in life.

This weekend i need a thorough battery re-charge . If the weather has a break i'm going to try and go for a walk somewhere green , although it looks like a lot of rain and wind is blowing in … I see that the eastern USA has lots of snow and has been declared an emergency in some places .

So come huddle round SR , bask in the warm radiance of so many people trying to do the right thing for themselves and their lives .

When we were babies learning how to walk we slipped fell took a tumble but we got up and tried again , we didn't beat ourselves up or say it's impossible .

Eyes to the prize , lets do this ,

Bestwishes, m

Thursday evening here in the states. It's been tough today because I've been holed up all day stuck in the snow and I can only read so many books and watch so many movies. Sigh...I'm not drinking though so for that, it's been a decent day.

Inca I have never seen snow! I live in an almost tropical climate. We do have snow fields and skiing and get great snow for a short time every year, but I've never been. Being snowed in sounds quite exotic for me, but not for you I can imagine :-)

It's summer in Australia isn't it? I'm soooo jealous. I'm such a warm weather junkie which works out for me 3 months of the year lol.

On the bright side, snow is cool for snow angels and skiing.

Hey weekenders... Hey M...

Blizzard warning for my area and we are getting 14 inches. That's over three feet of snow and a ice storm this winter alone! It's fluffy and light but about -10 below zero so very very cold.

I hope all the homeless got to shelter for this storm. It's brutal.

I will be working from home as a well as my whole team so it will be a normal workday just in my fuzzy slippers and with a cup of tea and two cats. Watching the wind blow the drifting snow out the back door. And a huge sense of gratefulness in my heart.

I can tell you for sure that this type of storm calls my av up and asks for a direct line. I would have always gone to the bar and once I made it there camped out all day playing pool and music with the other drunks and homeless seeking refuge.

I used to spend 10-12 hours there on a day like today.

Not an incling in the world right now. I have so many things I want to do today... In between work... Wink wink...

Have a good day and weekend folks! Stay sober. It's possible... It your choice each day and if needed each moment to not drink.

Ken

I stand corrected ... The news just reported that with the wind chill it's between 25 and 30 below zero. They said that it's warmer in Antarctica than on Maine today.

Good Morning Y'all! I'm not far enough south to miss all of this weather fun in the USA, but it's not snowing yet. Raining and windy, but the temperature is still a few degrees above freezing. Supposed to get colder later, but after the rain has stopped. Nevertheless, my work is on a 2-hour delay.

Mr. AV is acting up lately. Glad to have another weekend thread to latch onto.

Let's do this!

I have to lose sooooo much weight it's unfunny. Yeah, I can't see myself as a regular gym attendee just yet but I'm going to start walking for 25 minutes at least three times a week as apparently this will also help my depression.

Louise - that's what I do - power walk. Also, I don't eat anything with more than 4% fat in it (and grill everything) - the weight soon comes off Xx

Hi Mecanix my sober Pommie friend and all weekenders! How many weekends can we have in a week? * ring ring *

It would be very gloating if I talked about the current Ashes series wouldn't it Mecanix? So I won't talk about it -- but I'm looking forward to watching the cricket, swimming, baking, reading, cycling and vegging out.

If this is your first sober weekend count yourself lucky, sober hangover-free mornings are awesome.
