day 1 again

I messed up again. I ended up drinking again Monday night into yesterday. I feel so damn foolish. I'm here again and don't want to drink today.

I'm not going to give up. I have a lot to think about today. I can't keep just stringing a few days together and fall off.

I'm with you. Slipped up after 17 days. Straight back to sobriety for me.

The important thing is you're back here today and starting over. Don't beat yourself up too much. Take one day at a time. Happy New Year!

been there before.... I've found it helpful to get my ass to a meeting that day.

Don't beat yourself up, that only throws more weight onto the potential downslide from where you are.

Reach out to someone who can listen and understand. Hit up a meeting. Today's a new day, don't pick up.

Forgive yourself, learn from it, and move forward again.

Welcome back Serotonin

of course the awkward question is - what are you going to do differently this time?

That's what I'm thinking about. I should have gone to bed that night, but the AV whispered in my ear. In all my years of drinking I never felt so conflicted over it.

I should have logged on and said how I was feeling.

Good job on getting back on the wagon. The only way to go! You are here and that is the most important thing, you can't change what happened, don't give it another thought. Happy New Year x

I feel your pain. I slipped on new year's eve after almost 4 months. Starting again

Good luck to all of you!

Good for you! You know- No matter what happens- if you keep trying, getting up and dusting yourself off, it will ALWAYS be better than giving up. Never throw in the towel!

(also, this is why I stopped actively counting days. I don't want to mourn "time lost". The only time you really "lose" is when you're drinking- not the other way around... if that makes sense! :-P)

My last drink was sometime around 4 PM on New Years Eve, so Im approaching 48 hours, which has been a time when I notice my AV creeping up. Thanks for all the support. I believe knowing this will help me fight the AV manipulation, as well as some of the craving techniques given in some of the other threads.

I'm truely feel blessed to have SR in my life.
