I'm back and determined
This is day 3 for me. A lot has changed since I was here last. Most for the best. I've moved to a new city/state, have a new better job, and I love my new apartment/neighborhood. Until Monday I was drinking more than ever using the excuse that I was lonely and didn't have any friends here....that was the excuse I used where I lived before. Not an excuse, but a reason for me to justify my drinking. I realized on my way home (7 1/2 hour drive) that I was sick of the drinking life. Christmas Eve I successfully pushed the man I love away because of a drunken outrage over something stupid. Granted I don't need to be with him because of his bad habits, but he is amazingly supportive of me improving my life and becoming sober. Today I'm off work and instead of even considering drinking, I'm going to bake and put up Christmas stuff. If it weren't rainy I would get out and about and do some sightseeing. I haven't done much of that since moving here 4 1/2 months ago.
Anyway...HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2014 is my year to be sober and become a healthier person.

Glad to see you back! Thought of you over the year and was wondering how you were doing. So happy you've decided to make 2014 a sober year, it is so truly worth it. I never thought, a year ago, I would be saying that but my life is so different (and better) that I can't imagine why I waited so long.
