That's a great accomplishment.

Not many people can claim January 1st as their sober date a year or more after putting down the drink.

Thanks everyone♥ I also want to add that journaling helped me a lot and exploring everything you feel and try to understand those feelings, because you will feel a lot now that your not numb from alcohol, its hard but its so freeing in the end!♥

Very helpful post. I too have a husband who drinks, not to excess like me, but nonetheless it makes it that much harder. The good news is, at least I don't like his drink of choice. You are right it is about me, my life, my health and I need to do this for me. Not use an excuse that "well he is drinking so I guess I can too." I have been doing that far too long.

Congrats on your 1 year!
