Observation: Sunkist and wineglasses

I am starting to figure out my issues. One of them is the psychological component. The act of opening the wine, serving it .. blah, you get it. Anyway, I don't LIKE the taste of wine. I liked the process of signaling "RELAX TIME". Kinda like smoking was (which I quit cold turkey 11 years ago). Lighting it, etc.

So anyway (you will all see I RAMBLE). Sobriety makes me talk too much :)

I ate my 92 lbs of sushi dinner and wanted to make it fancy.

:c029:So I poured my 12 oz can of Sunkist (real sugar - boom!) into a one of my wineglasses that really are the size of my head.

And...

the wineglass was ONLY 3/4 full!

lessons:
1. My wineglasses could serve as homes for small fish
2. They helped get me plowed
3. Its about the ritual of winding down
4. Sunkist is the nectar of the gods
5. 300 calories of sushi is a helluva lot better than 300 calories of wine.

PS sorry for posting here. Maybe it should go under "alcoholism". Anyway I got excited:)

I officially love your rambling! :)

I agree. This is Day 9 for me and I've noticed that there is something enticing about a fizzy drink in a nice glass that has become a nice substitution.

I can relate to the romanticised aspect of alcohol, uncorking and pouring out a glass of wine, that first sip of an untouched pint or having a dram of whiskey on a frosty evening, it's very difficult to get past all of that, but it can be done!!

Anyways great suggestion for any homeless fish out there!! :scoregood :c008:

" But I only had ONE glass of wine, officer" ...........

You are so right. For me it was also the habit of it! You know it is evening time, I always drink in the evening. It is pasta time I always have wine with pasta. Once you recognise those times or events you can recognise them as potential triggers. It doesn't take long to replace drinking habits with non drinking habits. I no longer associate pasta with red wine because for the last twenty or so pasta dishes I haven't drank red wine. It can be tricky at first but it is a question of reprogramming your mind to new habits. Hope this makes sense.

I always have my soft drinks in wine glasses! I think wine glasses, especially ones with big bottoms :) are lovely and when I gave up drinking I couldn't bear the thought of never using them again! I'm sure they make tonic water taste just a tad more naughty than a normal glass would :)

Tonight, of course, it's still tonic water, but in posh champagne flutes! :nyg
